In addition to a robust general liability policy, businesses involved in oil and gas production should consider these coverages to provide better protection.
Industrial operations have many potential dangers, especially in the oil and gas industry. Control of well insurance can cover costs related to bringing a well back under control, pollution cleanup costs incurred due to pollution that results from a well out of control event, legal liability for pollution-related bodily injury or property damage arising from a well out of control event, and/or re-drill and other extra expenses incurred to restore the well to its pre-loss condition.
Oil and gas lease property encompasses a variety of assets you would have on an oil or gas lease site, including tank batteries, heater treaters, pumps, and more. OLP insurance is designed to help recover the value of lost oil and equipment should something happen to them during the lease term and policy period. We have a variety of coverage and deductible options to fit the needs of your business.
Rig insurance is intended to cover oil or gas well-servicing, well-drilling, or well-work over rigs and equipment and can cover scheduled machinery, derricks, and tools as well as related property of others in your care, custody, or control. Hull insurance can cover damage to the body of any ships that you may use in your operations.
With over 80 years of experience insuring oil field risks, InSource can help you find the best coverage options to protect your business.
Riggers Liability Insurance is insurance for a contractor’s liability arising out of the moving of property and equipment that belongs to others, such as lifting air-conditioning units onto a roof with a crane. The standard commercial general liability (CGL) policy does not cover this risk due to the exclusion for “personal property of others in your care, custody or control.” Riggers liability coverage can be included so that coverage extends to property of others in your care, custody or control. (Note that if the contractor is an insured under a builders risk policy on the project, coverage is usually provided in that policy for property of others for which the insured may be liable. The builders risk policy may include a deductible, however, and may not include coverage for loss of use.)
